So to do the complete install i will need the regular harness and also the PAC interface to use my steering wheels controls? Is that correct?

Correct. But will you really be using your steering wheel controls when you have a nice new flashy touchscreen deck in your car?

I had the Avic-D3 installed into my 06 Cobalt about a month ago. Basically I decided to get the GMOS LAN with it so that everything would remain factory like. So I even kept my retained power feature so when I turn the car off the unit still has power for a few minues or until I open the door. I also got the PAC steering wheel interface adaptor so that I keep my steering wheel controls. I find them handy because I don't have to take my eyes off the road when driving to use the touch screen.

The only problem I have is that I still can't play video while driving even though the installer by-passed the e-brake. When the car is moving the video cuts out to a warning message and when the car comes to a stop the video comes back.

Mine is installed right in the center of the dash close to the windshield.

I agree, the steering wheel controls are a must once you have gotten use to them. It makes it much easier and safer to skip to the next song or adjust the volume when you flying and winding down the highway.

yeah its more than that, you have to take a pin out of the socket, and move it to the empty one below it, ground that, and then ground the ebrake as well. :-)

There's a way you can play the video while you drive but you have to make a switch for it. I got it done for 80$ the guy did it for me on the side.

you dont have to use a switch, or pay anyone, you can do it for free in your driveway in about 10 minutes.
