the factory antenna for xm..is totally different then those plug n play units. sirius is coming out with a unit that will plug up to the factory head unit that is XM ready and u will have sirius right to that factory HU. only thing is u have to use another antenna for sirius...im waiting for it. xm sucks..lol

Sorry to be alittle off topic with this but is it ok to paint the antena. I think it looks like shat black. It would look way better painted to match like the BMW's and what not. Is it ok to paint it?

xm and sirius antennas are interchangable they are nothing special. You could even use the stock one if you wanted the only trick is how they conect to the blackbox/reciever for the satelite signal.

Totally not true...
This is an adapter that will convert your xm antenna to connect to a sirius outlet...
Furthermore!!!
Sirius is coming out with a product called the sir-gm1 that is a direct replacement to swap xm to sirius utilizing ALL STOCK FACTOR HW (Head unit, and antenna)...
How the SIR-GM1 has been delayed month after month...

I got a question...gona take a real tech head to answer though. I want to get one of those Pioneer AVIC-XX in-dash units for my cobat. I have the XM package already in the car, but here's my question. Is it possible to use the XM antenna for the GPS function in the Pioneer system? I work a little with RF amps but I'm not sure about the antenna. My concern is that the Pioneer is so damn expensive...and the antenna they give you is a pain in the ass & simply will not install anywhere neatly nor easily. I dunno about you all but I don't wana spend over $1000 on crap.
