Here's an FYI for everyone as well. If you have metal ends on your RCAs like I do (check out the pics) make sure they don't touch ground or you'll get alternator noise in your system. It took me a month, ripping the dash apart twice, and two noise filters I didn't need to figure out where the noise was coming from. I finally figured out when I noticed that the noise was only there when the deck was pushed back into the dash all the way.
What was happening was the metal heads on the RCAs were touching the metal bracket behind the stereo and inducing the noise. A simple piece of tape over the metal fixed the problem.
This leads me to another problem, and why I have to rip the dash back apart. When I wired everything up I wired the turn on lead for the amps to the sunroof fuse along with the stereo, figuring I'd always have the amps on so it wouldn't matter. Well, apparently since the amps get the turn on signal the same time the deck does, their anti-thump muting circuit is off by the time the radio comes on and clears the stray voltage out of the RCAs. Before, when the RCAs were touching ground, that didn't let any stray voltage build up. But now that I fixed that problem, I have another: a periodic turn on thump. The good thing is all I should have to do to fix it is wire the amp turn on lead to the H/U like I should have done in the first place, lol.
Oh yeah, one more thing for those of you that have/are getting PAC SWI-X's or SWI-ALPs. Program the PAC when the car is running. I first programmed it when the car was off and after about a half hour of driving, the volume up buttom would mysteriously get intermittent(only that button). I thought I would try reprogramming the PAC with the car running and that seems to have fixed the problem.
So the moral of the story is, if its not one thing, its another.

The dash kit looks surprisingly good. I didn't think I was going to like the black and I was going to paint it to match but I didn't get the paint in time so I just put it together. I figured I'd paint it later but it looks fine.

Hey Bandit, is there a lot of room where youn put the tweeters? I've got manual mirror controlsd there, you think there's still enough room to add tweeters?
Did you cut behind the deck to have it fit flush like that? Looks great, mine sticks out about 3/4 inch, doen't look too bad, but not as nice as yours

I have a clarion head unit that doesn't have the direct conection for steering wheel controls....so I need to know where the wires for the psi-x connect and the best place for the IR to hide at...

Huge IR Hole...not...
Ok so i posted a link to the pic of the HUGE (not) IR transmiter hole that was drilled into my dash. You almost cant even see it. Besides I couldnt complain...It was all parts included with the free install. They were even nice enough to run 2 pairs of RCA's and my remote wire out during installation.
