You will lose radio reception going small like that even if you find one. You have to understand these things are engineered to fit the requirements to sound good, Gm would not of spent the extra 3 cents to make the stock antenna its size just for fun, its what the system needs to operate.

You could always do something like this:http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12044UA...a.html?tp=3449

Install at the top of the windshield or rear glass (inside), or do a little searching for a "stick on" grid type antenna for the rear glass - looks kind of like a defrost grid.

I prefer the remote one so you can mount it under the dash w/o having to run wire all over the car...

those sound like crap, as with most aftermarket antennas

"I thought it would be cool to have no antenna showing on my car and put the hideaway on the inside of my window. The problem is it looks cool but the reception is really, really bad. I went from great radio reception to almost no reception. Don't even experiment with this because I tried everything to get it to clear up and it does not. Buy another brand or a real antenna. "

"I would suggest looking at other products. The reception is terrible. I have tried mounting it in several different spots and none of them worked well. I live just outside of the Chicago where you can get radio reception anywhere and the strongest channels only come in 50% of the time. Great concept for a product but not worth the money."

"The antenna seems to be directional. I can have a decent signal, make a turn and lose the station. I have it mounted on the dash next to the bottom of the windshield, so it is not obstructed by anything other than glass. A $10 mast type antenna works much better if you have a place to mount it. I do not recommend this product.

Have not tried one of either style myself so I will take your word for it.

Honest truth, the reception with the stock antenna sucks compared to the wife's Taurus or my 535 - which has great reception with the antenna in the rear glass with the defrost grid

Good thing I like the XM
