gear shift lights (automatic)

im noticing that the p r n d ... letters are not lighting up in the dark, the dimmer is on all the way but my girlfriend keeps telling me they never did light up however im almost positive they did. can somebody tell me if they do light up what fuse that would be?

I burnt those bulbs in cars numerous times, so it'll probably be a bulb. I'd imagine if that fuse went out a bunch of other stuff would too.

It's a bulb. There's a how to on replacing it. I'm lazy too lazy to find it right now, just search.

i already have a bunch of blue leds in the car so maybe ill stick one in there. thanks guys

I have the same problem but im sure my bulb does work because it rarely turns on. Any idea what it could be? ?

To change the bulb you need to remove the console trim around the shifter, the shift knob and the top plate on the shift assembly. After all that, you can lift out the white light housing and change the bulb by twisting and removing the bulb socket from the housing. It's a t5 wedge style bulb.
