A lot of GM cars have the DIC display on the stereo, however ours is on the dash, and I don't think anything you do to the stereo can affect it...could be wrong, though.
Canadian Cobalts are different...they use the metric system. That's about it.

The guy has no idea what hes talking about its not the same setup thats in the G6 and Malibu you do not need it. If you buy it it wont work thats the bottom line. There is no difference mechanically or electronics wise between the 2.
Get the normal harness everyone else is getting.

you most definetly do not need that dash kit. get the 20 or 10 dollar one from anywhere. i would not even go to that installer. do it yourself or if you need help email me or in am in new jersey.
edit.. unless you want to drive 10 hours than i am not here to help. didnt notice where you were from. okay well email it is

Ok now im even more frustrated than before, every installer ive called so far say they wont isntall it without a special 200$ dash kit from either metra or scosche because i would mess up teh car pretty bad, than i ask them why, they say because things are wired through your radio, i say what, they say the DIC, i say bullshit bye...

Yeah its really not hard or special. The worse part is taking the trim around it and over the glove compartment off. But thats not even that hard the first time can suck though.

Yea I can say it's easy to setup your car wiht an aftermarket deck for just about any car. But make damn sure you've got all the connections right, test your lights with the new deck in, and have some spare fuses aroudn just in case you crossed a wire up with another. I've done that with every install I've ever done. Well it woudl help if I sourced a wiring diagram before I go gung ho on **** the first time.
