Getting a system?

Im thinking about getting a system for my car but i dont want to go and buy a deck for my car and reconfigure my dash. Is it possible to buy a sub and amp and hook it up to my stock deck or anything i can do? Also what would be the best sub and amp for my 06 Cobalt SS/SC. My friend has one type X sub and it bumps so i was wondering what i could do any help would be great thanks.

Yes you can you will just need an inline converter to hook up an amp and subs to the stock deck.

I have my system running off my stock deck, you just connect a line converter to the rear speakers, and then the RCA cables from the converter to the Amps. Check out my system in the "Trunk" link in my sig
