From what I understand I need a gmos lan 04 cause I have a pioneer step up from the factory, I don't wanna spend another 100 bucks on that when I have a gmos lan 3 w/onatar already, so what I'm wondering is there a way to make the lan 03 work.

well the difference is rca vs speaker wires and possibly the module is a little different. but what i would do is this. connect power ground and acc leaving speaker wires and everything else out but so they cant touch. and try it. if it powers on ok then touch one pair of speaker wires together see if u get sound (you can try the driver front if u want to check chimes) and if so turn off the vehicle hook up as normal and dont worry about it

either its going to work or it wont but no amount of repinning or rewiring is going to change that. both modules have the same pinout to the car

my last car was an 07 LS without the pioneer system and I had an aftermarket stereo in it using the gmos lan 03 and everything work I pulled it out and tryed installing it in my new SS and the stereo powered on for about 10 seconds then powered back off and wouldn't turn back on unless you unhook it and it back up, this is why I thought the pinout was different

I could just use a 70-2104 and lose the onstar and chimes right, ill just have to connect the remote wire from the head unit to the pink wire on the stock harness to activate the stock amp right?

ya you can use that and be fine. you probably wont have to do the pink wire deal but you would have to run the acc to the fusebox
