Got my premier installed (PICS)!!!!

Well, I made my first true mod to the Cobalt. I purchased a Pioneer Premier DEH-P500UB headunit and got it installed today. I will be getting the rest of my system installed later this week. (see sig for complete details.) Well here are a few pics from after the install.

It's got the iPod hookup and everything....it's my new love....

look'n nice^^

My cousin used to have trouble with take-off's and tha remote fly'n out towards tha back, so he used a lil velcro on bottom of remote to hold it in. Maybe this'll help if u run into that problem.

And, my Fiance's good friend owns the shop that I bought it from so he is going to install the stuff for me for free.
BTW...the hole at the bottom is where the bass control is going to go. The remote is just temp in there, thanks so much for the advice though!

looks like a cheap unit you'd find at walmart. No offense, just never heard of "premier". I honestly think you would have been better off with the stock head unit.

Good luck with the rest of the installation.

This headunit is a Pioneer Premier, it's the elite unit of Pioneer that only certified shops can sell. It may LOOK cheap and basic, but it's really awesome. It comes with a two year warranty and it is totally bad ass....thanks for the luck though!!! Most likely it will happen on Monday. And my stock headunit was for an LS so it did absolutely NOTHING except radio and basic cd. It sucked. I looked at reviews and did research before I bought it and they were all excellent. My entire family will buy nothing but premiers and my fiance's brother compteted in some pretty big shows with his premier. And I take no offense, I just like feedback.

and yes, it is a brand spanking new 2008 model that they just put on the shelf the day I bought it.

WRONG. Home audio is Pioneer ELITE, not premier.

Im surprised your dealer just got them... we've had the 08s for about a month now and honestly the 500ub is the best looking one ive seen so far. but i will see how the 600, 700 and 800prs look in person

ya i can guarantee unless you get a badass double din or flip out then the 500ub will sound a million times better. Lol we actually had someone that got a bomb system and it didnt sound that great and once we swaped his double din hu out and put an alpine in it sounded a million times better. Moral of the story pioneer and alpine FTW

AMEN!!! My car audio place is kinda behind the beat by about a month since it's locally owned....can't wait to go to get my system installed tomorrow....YAYAYAY!!!!

Oh...and the storage space will be well used because that is where the bass control knob is going.

I put the regular pioneer version (DEH-P5000UB) of that in my dad's car. It's got damn nice features and sound for a sub-$200 unit. Honestly, I think it looks better than the premier version because the part surrounding the knob is all aluminum instead of a plastic insert. Basicly it's for folks that want something a little more sleek than the usual 50,000 buttons and flashy "super siezure robots" display. It uses a 2 line blue OLED display and you search through tracks and folders by pressing the aluminum knob in that direction.

I think Pioneer has some of the best looking head units IMO.
