h/u question
Im new and have no clue how to use a forum but quike question do i gotta bypass my stock amp when i install my pioneer avh-p3200dvd. I have a 2006 ss/sc w/pioneer system and sub and i used the metra 70-2103 harness thanks if you guys can help id appreciate it. The sound is horrible

no you dont have to bypass the amp but when using the 2103 you need to keep the volume lowish. If you have it cranked to 60 then ya its going to sound like **** also turn the eq to flat or custom and tune yourself. the powerful it starts out with is ****
when you say the sound is horrible what do you mean

Ive messed with the settings for 2 days and cant get any of the speakers clear. The high and mid sound really high and the sub sounds like not enough power. The harness i used plugged right up with no modifications and whole system sounds like its bieng over powerd. Thanks for the ansers. With loud off mid and high sound fine but not much bass from sub when loud is on low sub sounds good and mid/high get screachy if i switch to med or high loudness all speakers are about to self destruct. Volume is only 12 and the sensitivity for the volume is all the way down. Im off to work i hope to chat more with ya after and thanks for the help.

ya you need to turn the loud off sla should be at 0 eq should be flat bass boost should be off ect. get everything to start at 0 and go from there
The system is being over powered. Using that harness you are giving the stock amp somewhere like triple the power of the stock HU. Thats not necessarily a problem as long as you don't crank it. Your max volume will just be much lower than the 60 or 62 that the pioneer can reach. so if your volume is even close to that then all bets are off on why it sounds like ass.
Using a module harness by metra pac or scosche will "fix" this by just giving the stock amp less power through the RCA outputs of the pioneer instead of the speaker outputs BUT all its doing is changing the amount of power the amp receives. While the exact number isnt going to be the same just take this as an example: volume 20 would be the same as volume 60 using the module harness.

Sweet thats exactly whats happening thanks for clearing this up for me i set everything to its lowest and started eqing from the bottom and sounds good at 20 and pushing it at 25. do you have eq adjustment youd like to share with me?

not really man its all personal preference. alot of people like the high and bass up with the mid flat but mostly because they don't know any better. i prefer a little more of the opposite with alot of mid less tweet and bass dependant on the music im listening to. Just play with it on a few of your favorite songs and see what sounds good to you.
