Have I lost my mind?

I just ordered 2 Kove Armageddon 15" subs off ebay for $650!
Not sure how I'll wedge it in my trunk yet....
I'm thinking about starting with a sealed box.

Has anybody else gotten 2 15" subs to fit in the cobalt trunk?

does this mean I'm a bass freak? hahaha

back in high school I had 2 JL Audio 12W6 in a ported box I
made myself and a Rockford Fosgate amp that was doing about
500 watts at 1 ohm and I was running it at 1.5 ohms :-)

I only went to one competition, but I got 140.6dB !!

For mids and highs I have a polk component set that I had
bought for my last car but ended up selling the car to by my Cobalt.
I have a Alpine DVD unit that has optical output so I can send
that to my Alpine H701 signal processor

This project is like a snowball rolling down a hill.... I'm starting to get scared!!!

I have 4 12's without too much problem.

You can fit two 15's by using fiberglass for sure

Do you think I'll need to take out the spare tire and use that space too?
They recommend about 4-5 feet each for a ported box.
Plus I still have to buy amps and find a place to stick them LOL

Defintely go sealed. I have 6 cu ft of sealed boxes and they take up 75% of the trunk.

You will definitely need to remove the spare

Why not get some good 12" subs instead. 15's usually sound like **** anyways Good luck with your project. Post some picks when you manage to get them in the trunk... lol

In highschool I had 2 12s and it just wasn't loud enough (140.6dB)
So this time I'm going bigger :-) At first I was thinking about getting
6 10s but I have heard a few 15s and liked how they reproduced
the very deep bass, so I went with 15s.

double check it with an ohm-meter?
also, had this happen one time and it turned out to be that my ground wire had come loose and was barely making contact (not on the amp end, the other one), so check on that too.

bigger isnt always better
i would have gotten 2 better quality 12" subs with a better amp
i think 15" subs sound like garbage, there is so distortion

and with my 1 12" setup, i hit 144.5 dB bigger is not better

all i can say is that i love my 1 12... im still on the stock pioneer system except for the amp and sub, but until i get better mids and highs the 1 12 kicks more than enough... but also like i have said if systems are what you are into, and you want somthing crazy, why not put 2 15's in a small ass car lol! it may not sound the best but it will look crazy and will rattle your brain! do what makes you happy!

A bit off topic but if I were to buy subs and new speakers and keep my stock deck, would it affect the music quality that much? The reason I ask is because on my dodge, it has the radio controls on the steering wheel and its sooo convenient

no it shouldnt be that much worse but aftermarket>stock... there are devices to retain steering wheel function on most model vehicles and for most aftermarket decks
