unit? Is this a good one? Did my thread title grab your attention? lol
It seem a reasonable price, and I'm not looking for anything outrageous, and I love the full screen that doesn't flip out. Audio people does this seem decent?

Thanks

You're a weak thread title. I'm more just curious the quality of it overall, I didn't want one that flips out because I want to avoid having one with a lot of moving parts that could break.
Hmm really? I didn't notice that. I'll go check it again.

The U310 does in fact have the detachable screen, as stated about it is designed to be used as a handheld GPS as well. It's not a bad unit, I have installed a few of them, its a good buy for someone looking on a lower budget to add nav. Disadvantge of that unit is it plays no video whatsoever. Don't know how important that is to you but it has no video in/outputs. The f700 and 900bt units both have navigation and built in blue tooth, but again the 700 does not play dvd while the 900 does.

If you want the best deals on headunits, wait until the new models are released. The stores, such as Best Buy, will have the prices cut in half or more. I saw $1,200 headunits for $500 last year when I went looking for one. When the new models are released, they just slash last years model to sell it. I can't think when the offical date of the new models come out each year. I want to say around March, but I can't be for sure.

Lol that was the point! Hahaha I wasn't really looking for a headunit, I was at Best Buy getting something else and just looked over and I thought it looked decent. I want a full screen, and navigation is kind of a plus but not necessary.

I have a avic-z3 and love it- but if I had to replace that unit I would get the newest avic-z, the AVIC-Z110BT. I know you didn't want to spend over $500 but it might be worth saving up the extra $200-300 and get something really nice. I have found them on ebay for under $800. You maybe able to find them even cheaper than that, but I am unsure.
