head unit

how hard is it to install a aftermarket head unit>?? and will the controls on the steering wheel still work if i get a diff head unit

With most head units you can get plug and play connectors which makes it real easy, just be careful when taking the plastic trim off. Now as far as the steering wheel controls, they will be gone unless you get something to relearn them. I can only speak from experience and with my Avic-D3 I can get a piece that plugs into the back of the HU that will re-learn my steering controls so that it can function like normal.

mmm im just wondering if it is really even worth it cause i use my wheel controls all the time lol

Yea at first i missed them, but I have had my system in my car for over two years and I don't miss them one bit, but like i said depending on the head unit you can get a box that will re-learn the steering wheel controls.

well i know pioneer makes one for their head units, so look and see if you like any of them

u can add steering wheel controls on most major HU's but it is a bit of a pain
