Head Unit help

Hey guys I need some help with this head unit and tried finding exactly what I need but Im still a little confused. Well I wanna purchase the pioneer AVH 170DVD head unit and I know Ill need a face plate and harness but is that? Cause I was reading that sometimes people lose sound from their sub when they put a new unit in. Ive only done one other head unit and it was rather easy but I wanna make sure Im buying all the right stuff. Any help or links is appreciated.

Iv never lost sound in mine. I'm gonna assume the ones who loose sound probably hook it up the easy way, with butt connectors. Do it right, solder it, took me an hour to solder the harness of the unit to the Gm harness I bought, could do it outside of the car and when ur done it just plug and play with the cars harness. No issues what so ever. Well except the fact that the amp wire on the car is not in the right spot on the Gm harness , which is easy to move. I just upgraded from avic 140bh to a 7100nex, both pioneer. The newer ones have the head unit wiring in reverse on the same plug as the older unit so I ended up having to wire the new head unit harness on. Was hoping I could use the old one. Pioneer was lame for doing that
