Well not on the 06 with the correct harness. Even with the 07 there is a harness that let you keep every thing. If you use all of the items above for an 06 you not loose anything.

Then also I figured out where the VSS wire is that you need for navigation.

Its next to the fuse panel on your passenger side. Take the kick panel off and there are two blue harnesses you want to remove the one that is vertical no horizontal. That is BCM C2 if you tap the vss wire to the grey wire at pin 62 that should give you your feed for the vss wire.

also go to www.avic411.com, they have a hack so you dont have to hook up the ebrake wire that way you can sue the navigation and dvd functions while the car is in motion. its very easy

im going with the metra double din which is 95-3302 but the scosche works too. Im also doing the sirius add on and I just traded in my zune for the ipod and the harness so the pioneer can fully interface with it
Soooo.......what exactly are you talking about here?

I have an 05 SS/SC w/onstar and XM and want to install a AVIC D3.

if im understanding this correctly i will need:

pac swi-ps ---for the steering wheel to work
metra 12V interface wiring harness XSVI-2103---wiring harness
dash kit???

Does this kit not fit correctly into the cobalt, i would rather have a double duin that will fit perfect? Any advice. This one seems to be the best for the price

If anyone can direct me towards and answer to this I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have the Jensen flip out 7" dvd screen ( VM9311 ) and it was able to be installed in my 06 LS because the wiring harness was the same. Now apparantly they have changed the harness from the 06 to the 07 and the harness does not work..

Where would I be able to find a harness that would work? Do they even make one?

I do not have On-Star either btw, if that helps anything.

The harness that I listed should be the one that you need, I believe.

if you have an 07 you either need that external chime harness or the 150 dollar gmos-lan-04 harnes which will keep everything.

if you have 06-05 you have to relocate your stock radio and piggy back an aftermarket radio to keep onstar. other wise the xsvi harness is a gimmick and costs 3 times as much as the standard 2103 harness which does the same thing if you hook it to goo accessory wire.

there is no other harness for the 05-06 that will keep onstar, none exsist i mean.

if you need anymore help let me know by pm. Ill be back from hawaii on monday, been gone 2 weeks thats why no posts.

im not ignoring everyone

later fellas

find my other posts about the stereos in my recent posts and there is a lot more info

lol wow i just did my install and the GMRC01 harness was the wrong harness, none of the pins matched up....i didnt realize that till AFTER i hooked it all up, my guages all turned off my dumby lights all turned on, I immediatley took it all out and put the stocker back on, im thankfull it didnt **** anything up.....i just ordered the metra harness. that GMRC01 harness cost me $110.00 from audio/video, so i am going in to kill people tomorow

so the XSVI-2103 will work even with the pioneer system??

no it doesnt work for any cobalts, it is a generic GM harness for most GM cars, but thats a big NEGATIVE on any cobalt! I did read the posts, I was just convinced by a guy at a reputable shop that this was going to work, i thought "well i can buy it from a shop that this guy said would work for sure and get it NOW, or i can order the one cobaltss.net sugested and wait 15 years for shipping..." so i took the NOW option, but whatever i already got the Metra harness in and already returned the other 110.00 POS

Glad my post helped people. Maybe I can clean the info up a bit, make it more universal and see if the mods will sticky it.

is anyone having problems with the screen folding out to eject or insert a cd? I got a Kenwood DNX7100 and it has like a 1/8" gap so I have to push up on the headunit sometimes when I open it or shut it. anyone have any ideas?

YA! got the Z1 installed and damn it looks so good! very happy with it, and thanks to all who contributed to this post, it was very helpful

and SL4CK3R:
I had that problem when i was trying my unit out in my bedroom and all you have to do is ajust the double din kit, just loosen the screws, push up on the bezel and then tighten the screws, you should then have enough clearance
