headlights dim with cap. NEED HELP
Ok since the best buy and all the other big stores around here suck with Audio i bring my question to you guys. I have 2 10" subs and an amp and a cap in the back of my car and When the bass hits hard at night my head lights dim a little. I bought the cap to fix this but i guess it does not. What els can i do?
Also what is a good brand of speakers to put in my car? I have sonys xplode in there now and i dont like them. for subs I have Kenwood same for the amp and my deck is sony (only because it was cheep and has a usb hookup )

i am not a big audio guy, but an audio battery might help. something like a yellowtop. as far as good speakers, i could only recommend the major brands (rockford fosgate, alpine, jl audio, memphis, resonate engineering, etc.)

A cap wont really help
How long is your ground?
What size wire are U using
A bigger Batt. might help, but replace the stock batt. ground with a thicker one (0/1 guage)
Make sure your using at least 4 gauge wire and your ground is no bigger than 24 inches, sand the paint away from wherever your ground is
Try grounding the amp right to the same ground as the batt.

How big is your amp? Might be overkill for two xplodes and thats prob why you dont like them besides the fact that they suck. Does it do this all the time or just at idle? Your alternator should be putting out plenty of juice to run those subs, if it does it a little at idle I would understand but not at speed.

help us out and give us model #'s of the amp and subs that you have now.
i would bet the gain on your amp is cranked which is not good, give us some info.
as far as speaker go everything is subjective, what is good for me, may not be good for you, best advice is to listen to different brands in other peoples cars if you can

rule number one. your gain is not a volume knob
maybe the mods will want to post this link as a sticky, i would only be quoting from it if i wrote a post myself.

check the gain setting, if those are 4ohm subs, and from what i've seen they are, they are prob wired to 2 ohms. at 2 ohms that amp will do 500w rms, it has 1 40 amp fuse, no way even at max juice that should be a problem. check your grounds, ground should be as short as possible, secure and on bare metal.

Ive just always grounded to the frame, thats where the battery is grounded also so that probably is increasing the length of your ground wire in theory I guess..
