Headlights only sometimes come on at night

Hey i have retrofit HIDs and they work great normally, but recently some nights they just won't turn on at all. Sometimes after a few minutes of driving they just randomly come on.

Turning them on automatically doesn't work, nor does using the highbeam switch.

Just wondering if anyone has ever had an issue with this, not sure if it is a problem with my daytime/nighttime sensor, some of the connections or fuses, or what.

Recent work since the issue came up was a GM deck harness replacement (not sure if relevant in anyway).

Thank you for any input.

Check every plug. Sounds like you have some corrosion buildup in one of them. I wound up soddering and heatshrinking wires together because my plugs kept corroding

One of mine would do that and it ended up being the car's headlight harness. I had to replace it.

I'll check all the plugs that would have an impact on both of them, because either they both are off, or both are on, and always turn off/on at the exact same time.

Could also be my light sensor maybe, anyone have an issue with that before?

Went in, checked all the connections multiple times, cleaned all the ones that looked iffy, still no luck.

My CCFLs both always light up, and my turn signals also.

I don't understand why it takes them a few minutes sometimes to turn on if they ever do.

Nothing is fully broken since they will usually will eventually both turn on at the same time, I'm really confused and I haven't read anything like this before.

Sounds like it could be the relays.

I tried doing that exact thing briefly when i had all taken apart with no luck.

Starting to think my relay itself may be crapping out a bit.

They were made by mkulrey13 / buyhids / hidwerks... PMed him, he is usually good about customer service stuff so hopefully he can help me out with parts if I need them. Having no headlights make night driving / leaving town pretty much impossible so this needs to get fixed ASAP.

wait The halo's and the turn signals don't run through the ballast, correct. if not maybe it is the ballast.

Ya but both ballast wouldn't go out then back on at the same time.

Think the only option here that makes sense is the relay i think.

Hopefully a response tomorrow, see what he says

Could be the relay as well..stickin until it heats up then lets go. Cuz itd be odd for both ballasts to go out..especially ones like Mormotio
