a heads up

not too sure if anybody with a cobalt ss/sc with pioneer + sub caught on to this. (not sure if this applys with other cobalt models)

when wiring in an aftermarket head unit, the stock amp will turn on when the radio is turned on in RADIO MODE....ofcourse....you will get sound, however, when the head unit is switched to CD player or DVD player, the stock amp will turn off giving u picture...but ofcourse no sound....well...such a n00b that i am...took me a good couple of hours to figure that out. so finally i wired the stock amp to turn back on when switching to cd or dvd player.

if you already knew this then your the man ;x

k bye.

it because you wired the remote amp turn on to the power antenna lead.

You must have wired the factory remote turn on lead to the power antenna lead of the aftermarket deck (which is usually blue with a white stripe). You need to hook this lead to the solid blue remote turn on lead of the aftermarket deck.

It depends on the head unit. My alpine has a power antenna (blue w/wht stripe) and remote turn on (solid blue). The blue and white is hot when the radio tuner is on, the solid blue is hot whenever the deck is on. Some decks only have one output that is hot whenever the deck is on.

EDIT: As Raven pointed out, I said it backwards. The solid blue wire is the power antenna wire which is hot when the tuner is selected. The blue and white wire is the remote wire and is hot anytime the deck is on. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, you're right I said it backwards. Blue with white stripe is amp on, solid blue is power antenna.
