Headunit install questions.

First wanted to say that I searched and could not find the answer.

Is the GMOS-LAN-03 the adapter that i need so that I can keep Onstar and bluetooth when installing a aftermarket HU.
Has anyone used this with the Bluetooth?

Or will i be better off just getting a HU has it's own Bluetooth?

Also does the GMOS-LAN-03 have a chime speaker built in or does it use the door speakers?
I want to amp the front speakers but i don't want to loose the chimes when the car is off like the headlight reminder.

I think i'll get a HU with Bluetooth insted of messing with the others. Most of the units im looking at have it built in.

For the speaker module do you have any part number for it?

I've actually been researching all this stuff pretty recently because I wanted to put a hands free sound system in my car.

As for the onstar it all depends on the year of your car. I have an 08 in I need the GMOS-LAN-4. That one gives you your door chimes and all that. Just type that into Ebay, Amazon, or Crutchfield and it should come up.

As for the bluetooth it all depends on what you want to get out of it. Some HU's have Bluetooth built-in but it leaves out the A2DP feature. The A2DP allows you to stream music from your phone or any bluetooth device thru you HU. So if that is something you are interested in having make sure you the Features and reviews of each HU you look at. Some you will need to buy a compatible Bluetooth Kit.

From what i seen i can also use the Pac C2R-GM11. I'm not at all worried about the Onstar. I don't even have the mirror in the car anymore that has the Onstar buttons. I swapped it with a Auto Dimming mirror.
I like the fact that C2R-GM11 has built in speaker instead of using the door speaker.

This is the HU i'm looking at. It does have the Blue Tooth built in. Also does stream music so i don't have to connect the Iphone to it all the time for music.

Sony Xplod MEX-BT3800U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

What i don't know is. Should i run my rear speakers and the fronts off a amp or just the fronts.
I mean the rears are only for fill because i have the sub for bass.

run them both... its not much more expensive regardless and you can always turn it down. adding a second amp or swapping amps down the road would be a waste

True a 4 channel is about the same price as a 2 channel.
And the Sony 6x9's i have in the rear do put out some nice bass with a little power.
