Help With Mids/Highs

I'm thinking since all the componets in my system are jl audio about getting them for my highs...anyone have any suggestions?

price isnt a issue...i have 2 12 w6's being pushed by a 1000/1 jl amp and a 300/4 jl amp for my highs and an avic d3

clarion is my personal preference for mids and highs. Like having a bose in your car.

i really dont like JL for mids and highs.. very muddy sounding in my opnion.... look into Diamond Hex series

no offence but the clarion speakers ive herd sound like ass. and bose isnt all that. if u really look at the speakers they are crap they just put them in good enclosures

alpine type x... i work here... http://www.gotcmt.com .... that website we havnt updated since like 2 years but we have 3 times more at the store and if we dont have it we can order anything and ship it also for u... we carry all car audio and alarms... or swing by if u ever in the bay area at CAR AUDIO BLOWOUT 909 tanklage dr., san carlos CA. or give us a call!!!

good thread raven, i need new door speakers... ive been thinkin jl also to go with the rest of the system, but i havent heard really good things about their highs.

what size are our door's stock mid bass? 5 1/4 or 6 1/2?

ive always used polk audio for my speakers....their pretty nice or boston acustics

6 1/2.

@tvalentino: I was thinking of getting some Type-X's for my front stage. I've like Alpine before for subs.. But for mids/highs are they pretty good?

for the price of the JLs i would go with some Hertz.... very nice speakers there

What is your opinion on best mids+highs for speakers? Hertz?

I wont get JL except for woofers.

I have a NIB set of JL XR 6.5 components and coaxials sitting in my house waiting on install. I love free stuff.

i bought the jl audio C5 650x for the front and the VR690-CXi for the rear..

Do you not have pods for your tweeters? Just wondering why you got the 650x's with the built in tweeter and not the 650's with the external ones.

im gonna run 2 sets of speakers with the highs....with the 2 12 w6's i dont want my highs drowned out but i also have the 650's

if you want highs and arent gettin em outta your speakers put a set of bass blockers on your lines goin to that speaker(s)..they are cheap and guarantee you'll get better highs outta that speaker(s) then..JL Audio FTMFW

i didnt wanna do a whole lot of stuff since im a mechanic not electrian lol..so i just bought 2 sets of highs for up front and gonna fiberglass my door panel to accomidate

bass blockers are lil resistors that jus filter out your bass... ___blocker___ speaker ....the blocker jus gets put on the positive line goin into the speaker like that...simple cheap easy and effective...i had same problem with my JL's when i got em at first the blockers really helped

i have infinity 6.5's.
sounds pretty good IMO. Im also running a 300W 4chan. Alpine amp.
