Help with RetroFit

I like many have recently acquired a retrofit kit from BuyHids. Now I'm having a few issues with the install. I've got the How to open from their website and have searched many others. I'm having trouble with what parts go where, as far as these washers and this metal retainer.

Everything I've found refers to older series of DIY kits and don't show the same parts. Any insight would be appreciated so I can get these done. Thanks ~Jimmy

I have found this works best! :

Take the nut off and put it back on a few times to clean the threads. This will make it easier to twist on after its inserted and you wont be messing with it.

1. Smaller rubber washer onto threaded part of projector.
2. Take your stock bulb, Take the gasket off and insert it into the back side of the reflector like your installing your OEM bulb. Gasket will rest in the same place.
3. Put projector through bulb hole
4. Take the flat metal washer and insert it onto the threaded part of the projector from the back
5. Now take the nut and carefully twist it on. They can cross thread easy and we cannot replace if that happens

Purpose of the OEM gasket is basically the same as if you were using the stock bulb. Its just another thing to help prevent leaks.

I'm apparently not mechanically inclined as I thought. I don't understand what parts go where and now the threaded part of the projector doesn't fit through the hole to allow everything to thread onto it. Forgive my frustration but I'm beginning to get discouraged with this.

Have you removed the bulb holder? 3 screws that goes on after you have threaded and tighted the projector...

As per my thread, YOu need to dremal down the back of the reflector so the bulb holder fits. The top and bottom of the ring need to be shaved down. Even without it it will still bolt on. Its not designed to have alot of extra threads but it will bolt on without issue. Some people have had problems but figured it out

Your missing the OEM gasket from the bulb and the metal washer. THen screw on the nut.

You wanna know how to do this the fast way, bust out the dremel tool, a round sanding attatchment, and a reinforced cutting wheels. Chop off the plastic ring on the back, and sand down those nubs. Run the thin rubber washer, then the thin metal washer in the back, and the locking ring after that. Done.
