help setting up voltage gauge
soo i bought a stinger digital voltage gauge and it has 3 wires coming from it, ground, constant 12v, and then a switched 12v. i have the switched 12v tap'd to my remote wire for my amp, constant 12v tapped into the interior light or door lock fuse (dont remember which one) and the ground is behind the radio...
when i first fired it up it read 10.5 and stayed there but there is an adjustment knob that is suppose to be used i guess, by twisiting it i can change the voltage readout from around 10v to 15v...im not really sure what to do so i turned the car on and let it idle for a minute then adjusted it to 14.4v cause i think thats what a car should idle at...
when i thump depending on the song it will dip, typically it dosent go below 14v but when i hit a long deep note i can see it drop to 13.1-13.5v
just want to see if i have this set up correctly as i dont think i should be able to adjust the voltage readout since the gauge should be reading that by its self?
edit: i just read it would be best to connect the 12v to the amp its self to see how much volts the amp is getting...seems logical but would i use the constant or switched 12v?

im not sure what it uses to actually read the voltage. Its probably the constant and the switched wire is just a remote (i wouldn't connect the switched to the remote of the stereo thou i would use the acc you used for the radio instead) i know you have to adjust it with the knob like most gauges but i also know the balt doesn't rest at 14.4 its 13.8
