hi-output alt or deep cycle battery?
I just installed 2 boston g5's with a rockford t1000 amp, and when the bass hits it basically shuts off all the lights on the car, so a guy at audio express said i either need a high output alternator or a deep cycle battery. i would rather get a battery since i could just drop it in, but do i NEED to get both? will i just end up having to replace the alternator anyways if i dont? and please dont say capacitor
any help appericated

well, id rather just get 1 if its going to fix the problem, instead of getting 2 to get basically the same results
I was going to get a optima yellow but i cant find them for 07 cobalts?
and the only high output alt i can find is on ebay and its almost $500

i cant tell you what "will" fix the problem. **** i have the electrical system of gold and i still have 2v drop at full tilt
i can tell you an AGM battery with plenty of capacity will help and a new alternator will help more. The T10001bd has what a 150 or 200a fuse on it? so half that for music full tilt (75a/100a) factor in ~60a for the car electronics (all of them on at once) and remember the stock alt is 105a.
So the question is how loud and how long do you listen to it? full tilt all day every day then your math doesnt add up (100+60 doesnt =105) if you are a bit more conservative then the capacity of the batt should be enough

iv had my yellow top in for over a year and a half no problem. its a great upgrade but dont think that it will fix all ur problems. u should still use a stiffening cap and upgrade "the big 3". You do that and u have a car that can handle a fairly large system.
a new alt isint a bad idead... iv replaced my stock once...
