Higher Wattage light bulbs and harness questions!
This is how they are hooked up:
This is what they are:
This is what they are hooked to:
And This is what keeps happening:
I can't seem to figure out why? I hooked them the same way as the originals were and they are still burning that center plug. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Nobody huh? Well does anyone have the wiring diagraham for the headlight? Maybe I can look at it and figure something out.

wow. I was running those same nokya bulbs in my car for over a year without a problem. One of them finally burnt out and i have been using stock bulbs lately but the stock harness is just fine. In my last car, i had a set of those same bulbs last me over 3 years without one burn out or anything. I really don't know what to tell ya.

the electrical tape worries me. . .i would try a good soldered connection and heat shrink to cover, might not make a diff. but it won't hurt as you've already spliced into the wiring anyway

i would try to go back to the seller you got em from for some advice, did they sell you the bulbs too? they obviously pull alot of juice, try the solder thing and get some heat shrink tubing. once you get an answer from them. are the bulbs blowing, is the fuse blowing? i had the same problem with just silverstars in my '01 alero but the upgraded socket fixed it

Well besides the electrical tape...
You haven't upgraded your wires at all, you're still using the stock wires from the harness, adding thicker gauge wire halfway down doesnt make a difference if the stuff before it is the thin factory stuff. You need to hook your factory wires up to a relay which switches heavier gauge wire directly from a fused connection to the battery.

I've been using those exact halogens in my stock headlights for a year now with the factory wire harness & I have had no problems at all, i can't believe the plug is burnt like that... weird. Glad I'm getting my HID kit in the mail soon. I still can't get over how that is burnt like that..

The bulbs are not burning out. Just they eventually stop working cause of the harness burning. I appreciate the help guys, deff gonna look into changing more of the wire with thicker gauge.

That's what I thought
"Now, what is glare?
The glare I refer to is a beam of light directly hitting a persons eye.
I'm not talking about looking at the beam from a side or any of that... I mean right at the eye.
The reflective glare from some lights is similar to looking directly into the headlights."

my stage II nokya bulbs burnt the center plug as well, with all stock wiring. just noticed tonight. i don't recommend these bulbs to anyone, really. i would purchase a 6000K-8000K HID kit for a similar bluish effect.
I know that upgrading the harness may fix the problem, and be cheaper than an HID kit, but it's just a personal opinion.
