How can i hardwire a radar detector?

Im going to be buying a passport 8500. First off, are they good radar detectors? And i want to harwire it if i can but i dont know how i would go about doing that.. Any info would be appreciated.

They sell a specific wire for that radar so it can be hardwired.

Google is your friend.

its called add-a-fuse. I've got mine hardwired sharing the radio fuse. And yes 8500 are one of the best. You will not regret it...what color are you looking at, blue or red?

The color doesnt matter guys... its not a different radar....

im gonna just get the red one. but how am i going to hardwire it with the lighter input on it? can i just cut it off?

and how is the range with these? pretty good or what?

range is amazing... saved me a few tickets and it virtually pays for itself...

just an idea but drive around slowly with it on and then you can get a good feel for the range

...p.s don't hardwire it into the rear cig lighter, order an add-a-fuse and connect it to your wiper, sunroof, or radio fuse in the passenger side floor fuse-panel

i know they are avail at all auto places such as autozone napa checker ect... pep boys probably has it as well but i dont know
