I just installed a new sand storm crossover to my system, and i am getting a wierd humming noise coming through the speakers, but only when the car is running. The noise is not heard at all when the car is just turned on enough for the radio to be on, only when the engine is actually started. The humming noise then makes sounds along with the car, such as acceleration, and opening and closing the power windows. I canged the ground to my 4 ch amp to a better ground (Where the battery grounds too) but the noise is still heard? any suggestions?

Sounds like your alternator is on its way out

Find a better ground for the crossover
Get better RCA's if you don't have good ones in
Use bigger wires
The X-over alone does not draw that much power to effect your whole system, it sounds like you have a ground loop
Where is everything else that your running grounded to?

bad ground.. try cleanin whatever your grounded to and see if that helps any..

what crossover was added and what head unit do u have?

ya that is altinator whine ...your rca's are to close to the power wire....your amp sucks or its a bad ground
