one thing to ask tho is if you have On star or not.
if you do and want to keep it, the best way to go right now that i found is a in-line FM mod.
if you don't or don't plan on keeping On star, then i would save up for a I-Pod ready HU

if u want to get even cheaper...get a deck with Aux. Input. all new sony decks have it in the front of the HU. just like the new impala has it on there OEM HU. only with a radio install...u still need to get a wire harness, dash kit, and antenna adapter. so now if u want to be "cheap" ur gonna be rackin up a good amount in parts, plus if u dont know how to take apart your car, or scared to do it. go to best buy..they did my friends SS/SC for free. we painted the dash kit silver to match the dashboard..if u have onstar u need that turbo kit..yeah more **** to buy.oh ipod.

gm has an ipod interface for the hhr and such and i was told it should work for the cobalt too. it's like 245 bucks though, and i don't feel like being the guinnea pig to see if it actually works for the cobalt. i'm just going by what the dude at the parts counter told me, lol.

I use the Belkin fm transmitter thingy and it works decent. songs are pretty clear but in between songs you can hear static in the background. it also chargers the ipod and had 4 presets for radio stations. also it shows the stations through you ipod. i got it for my 30gb video one for 51 bucks which included shipping on ebay.

I had the belkin one and it sucked royally, I love the Transpod, like I said its cheap if u get a refurb one on ebay and the sound quality is 100 times better than the Belkin or iTrip, because I've used them both and the Transpod is the best.
