I Updated to Remote Radio Controls on Leather Wheel
I just swapped the factory plastic steering wheel for a leather wrapped wheel. The original wheel had cruise control but did not have the remote radio buttons. The leather wheel had the remote radio controls.
I was under the impression that it may require reprogramming to get the remote radio controls working. That is NOT the case. They worked as soon as I tried.
FYI,
Nick

The car is a 2008 LT 4dr and the leather steering wheel is a 2008 ... supposedly (bought on eBay).
Note that the leather steering wheel trim pieces are a lighter color than the original wheel's trim. But it is not a problem as far as I'm concerned. Looks great.
For those who are curious about such things, somewhere I read a webpage that indicated the radio knows what switch is selected based on a resistor network. Now you know everything I know so don't ask
There is nowway that wheel can come off without a puller. I took mine off a couple times and it takes a puller ... and comes off with a BANG (no ... not the airbag).
