installing my double din.need help with wiring asap.thanks
im connecting my double din pioneer avic x910bt..i took off
my stock stereo and am now wiring up my harness...the dude at the stereo shop that sold me the harness said i need to hook up an ignition switch which is a seperate pink wire..does anybody know where to hook that up to or if i even need it? i hooked up the yellow battery wire with the red acc wire together to the wiring harness yellow battery..the stereo turned on as soon as i plugged it into the car wires and wouldnt turn off..so im guessing i need that ignition wire so it can turn the stereo on and off? if anyone can help me because i am installing it right now.thanks

that red wire on the harness you purchased needs to go to a thicker gauge pink wire in your passenger kick panel....as soon as you pull that panel off you'll see the pink wire...

The kick panel is on the passenger side of the center console. Pull at the cover from the bottom. It's on there pretty good. It's better to just find the Ignition fuse and use that to power it up. I wouldn't cut into your harness. My kit came with a special connector I put over a fuse and that's how mine is connected.

its the piece of plastic near your feet to the left if your sitting in the passenger seat...it has a small vent in it for your heating/cooling...pull it off and the pink wire will be right there. i'm not a fan of tapping into fuses...it's usually not a good idea, but if you don't know how to solder i'd do what darkchild did and you should be ok.

I'd get a momentary switch that is always closed. Ground one end and lead the other end to the stereo... I think that's where it goes. I'm not sure how to the AVIC works but on my P-4000 model I have it hooked up to a switch. I have to press it a few times and the DVD option then works.
I only used the fuse method because I don't plan on keeping the system in there forever and I hate splicing into wires. I can solder and I soldered the harness, I just didn't want to hardwire it. If I could get a 2007+ CD player to work in my car I would be happy. With the usb slot. I have a 2006

theres only one wire coming off the ebrake so just pop off the panel and connect it with the red connector and done. if you want a bypass type deal you need a switching source. if its forever grounded then it will only work once if you do it when the units on. otherwise no bueno
