Installing subs. output converter questions

ok, so i have 2 alpine type r's with a MTX 2000 watt amp and i want to install it in my car and im not quite ready to swap my headunit yet. so i bought a scosche FAI-3AF output converter (picture below). it seems like its a jack of all unit. seems like to me its good for a few different things but im wondering if i picked up the right thing. also theres 4 "line out gain adjustment" screws on it. what do i do with these? im half thinking that if i max them all out my amp is gonna do its work anyway so it wont matter, but the other half is saying im going to melt something.

this one is the same as mine to look at.

Google Image Result for http://terryyu.bol.ucla.edu/4.jpg

thanks in advance.

Justin

the A speaker wires are speaker wire inputs the B is output (if you wanted to put the loc inline) and the rcas are self explanitory.

the simplist way to do it is tap the stock speakers or better yet subwoofer if you have it connect them to the first 4 inputs (or last 4 or whatever floats your boat really) and done just ignore the B side

ok. just to give everyone a conclusion. ran everything like it should, works perfect but with some expected letdowns. the bass is not near as loud as it would be if i had my Alpine CDA-9884 h/u installed and not near as clear. so next thing is a dash kit and wireing harness. thanks for all the help everyone.
