interceptor

ok, i apologize if this is a repost, but i cant find anything... ive been looking around at gauges and sensors, and am I wrong in assuming that the Interceptor basically obsolesces like every other gauge out there?

umm... bump?

Not really for the 2.2 and 2.4

I have one...it's neat but is AWESOME for the LSJ's to moniter IAT's and stuff.

I watch my KR and LTFT B1, if you are tuning they come in handy because you can kinda get a gist of what is going on.

Seems non-LSJ people like the dash hawk better

Are you tuning it or are you taking it to a shop to tune?

If you have a wideband and are picking up HPT...get the Pro, and get an interceptor.

Pro let's you log the Wideband and the interceptor will let you clear the CEL that you will get

i wont be tuning it myself... come to think of it, do i even really need the gauges? as long as i have the sensors, cant my tuner just hook up to them and check things out when he goes to tune it?
I mean it seems the only really usefull gauge to have in the car all the time is the af, cause it will let me know right away if im running rich or lean...

and its a 2.4l

Well if it is a shop with a dyno they will use a sniffer wideband.

I would get a interceptr to keep an eye on things while riding around.

Knowing you are knocking or running rich will give you an idea of what is going on with your ride.

A wideband would be a nice thing to have...don't want crazy 10:1 AFRs

Learn a little about what is changing when you get tuned and what exactly is going on so when dude changes it you know what to expect.

No, a wideband does.

And only a wideband.

It is a wideband o2 sensor.

A wideband isn't a guage.

The part that is the expensive part is a wideband oxygen sensor you put in the area of your stock narrowband o2 sensor.

The sensor is the expensive part, not the guage.

The PCM can only tell if it is lean or rich, not how lean or rich.

Interceptors can only read what is being read by the PCM.

A wideband is normally coupled with a gauge and the sensor.

They can be had for $250-400.

Its a good tuning tool nonetheless. even if you dont do the tuning, its better to go and tell your tuner that your running rich, or lean...and at what AFR...so he knows what to do from there.
