HAHAHAHA WTF!!!! That is truly unique! I don't know where the hell you would use that though, seems like a finish for a home use more then a car use. Maybe a wood paneled El Camino? lol

lol i had a feeling u would like those since u were painting white. i prefer the blue myself becuase im a LBM car. but if i had to choose i would go with the regular white. Alligator has a very cool effect but its going to be more expensive and not sure if they can put the DD logo. Without it, it looks odd
im also partial to the CF cap so i think the white composite with cf cap would be awsome

But you have to keep in mind its a 3510, look at the pic of the blue one I posted, that is a 3512. The cone will have even less area visible, so it will just be a tiny little strip of white and then a black carbon fiber dust cap. Yeah I really like the all white with th red logo, thats sharp as hell. Wonder if they'd do their logo blue on special request...
And who the hell voted this thread a 1 or 2 star... thats mean.

not that it would keep me from buying one if it was the best for my needs, but damn those are ugly...Maybe the white one (not aligator) is alright as far as looks go. By the way wood cones are not that strange (well maybe in the car) but there have been several home speakers that used wood cones.
I'm interested in seeing the new paint job. (although if I knew I was going to paint it I would have picked a different color to start with...is Red the easiest to paint over?

just adds price to it. I would have gone blue so the inside will look more fitting when your working on it. Your going to have a Red White and Blue car though :-)

so your stripping the entire car, frame off body off, and repainting it? Cause If your not, I could guarentee there will be some of the old color somewhere that can be found , and that would annoy me. (and if you are doing the whole kabudle, I wouldn't have layed all the sound deadening before the paint...)

Amp and box locations finalized!
And I really love the location! Check it out:
Brannan surprised me by mounting the amp above the box by suspending it from the rear speaker deck, which not only puts good use to that space freeing up more trunk space down below, but also helps air circulate around the amp keeping it cool.
Here is a closeup of the cable it is being suspended from and the wiring. Please ignore the old speaker wire, it will be tucked away. Also the cables are capable of supporting 250lbs, so there's no chance of the amp falling.
The amp is also secured using these steel brackets (or whatever they are called). Even though it doesn't look it, they are quite thick and don't give any flex, so it doesn't allow the amp to move around at all. It is very secure. Also if I haven't shown it before, the AX2000 come with Plexiglas on the bottom of the amp so you can see the high quality inner-workings (including the 2 vacuum tubes), and you can see some of that in this pic.
The 4ch Arc amp was already secured, but we put the endcaps on and loomed the wires up.
And here's the trunk now with the box and amp. The speaker wires are still dangling for now until I pick up some more loom, then they'll run up the side of the trunk and across the bottom of the rear speaker deck so they'll be totally out of site and loomed.

Its the black stuff that goes around the wires, called split loom. It keeps the wires together and organized and is basically a plastic tube with a slit all the way down one side of it so you can put wires into it and then tape or zip tie it closed. Notice how all the wires coming from the bottom of the Arc amp are bundled in the black loom.

The split loom is way easier to work with, but is less flexible since it is harder plastic.
It is very very secure. Doesn't rattle at all. My visors flap around, roof liner vibrates (the only place I haven't deadened and de-rattled yet), doors flex, trunk flexes, spoiler looks like a vibrator... but the amp doesn't move at all.
