what amp are you using?

two subs push more air than one sub. depends on what else you have going on

What size is the w6 and what size are your w3? There are variables too like what kind of box you're using, what kind of amp and the power that it puts out.

SPL 2 RE MT 12s > JL 13w7
SQ 2 hertz milli 12s > JL 13w7

basically the single w6 will sound better and the 2 w3s will be louder. mind you several variables com into play like stinky mentioned but if you keep everything on the same plane (box, power ect) then above statement will be true

so ya w6 will sound "better" w3s will be louder.... 10 might sound punchier but it would be close and depend on the box tunings

highly doubt that...unless it was 2 crappy ass 12's then yea

2 10" w3's > 1 12" w6

but the w6 would sound a little bit better than the w3's would but then again its all in how you build the box and how much power u give them

To your 13w7 I had two 12" soloberic L7's and would **** stomp my buddies 13w7, on the other hand another friend has a 12" solo x and that thing is insaine, with the right amp of course.

dude dont go with jl's. Go with one of thes following brands. Rockford Fosgate, Memphis, Kicker, MTX. These brands make great subwoofers. iv got 2 12" kicker compVR's plus the 10" pioneer the car comes with with a pioneer stereo, and i put kickers in my door speakers. im not sure i have to double check but i believe there either DS or KS series. There one step below there top notch ones. Then i put 6x9 power bass speakers in the back. my 2 12"s have 2 700W profile amps hooked up to them with a 1Farad digital Rockford Fosgate capacitor. its mad loud. i just bought a kicker 15" L5 but its going in my winter car(Topaz) so i have beets over the winter and besides the box is to big for the cobalts trunk lol.

You are correct the L7 is a SPL sub and it doesnt sound very clear IMO just gets loud. The jl can do both if you want it to be loud then you can crank it and its gonna get loud, or if your looking for SQ (witch im aiming for) then turn the sub down a bit and its going to blend nicely.

Not everyone is looking to be a spl noob.

lol, what is SPL? im not good at short hand lol. anywho so far before adding the speakers iv gotten 131 decibals but i had to curn it down before i went higher because it was a bracket bass of and i would have disqualified for beeting the reading i diled. damb lil john and his bass lol.

as for the solo X's those are so beast lol, the magnet on those is rediculouse. but pricy, i guess you get what you pay for though or you can wait to catch the deals. usualy when the new models come out the price drops in half depending on the dealer you goto

SPL is Sound Pressure Level... its the bass that you feel rather than what you hear.

lol at MTX, kicker, and Fosgate over JL. JL makes awesome subs there is no question. Only people that hate them are the ones that can't afford them.

Any discussion that involves JL being overrated basically comes down to the sole fact that they're expensive, not the output of their subs.

i have owned many subs.. my first system was a fosgate 500a2 with 2 10" jlw3s. it was in a sealed enclosure and absolutely pounded. i now have a 13w7 with an xtant 1000 watt amp. i prefer sql. I do like the 10w3s and later in life had 2 10w3v2s hooked up with a phoenix zx450. that pounded and sounded a hell of a lot better then the fosgate amp. for sound the w6s are nice just pricey. the w3s can sound good and are loud but d6s own them. also the alpine type x is a real good sq sub. i had a 10 in a sealed box and it hit every note. I do wish it was a little louder and deeper but it was pretty deep for a 10. Maybe a 12 in a ported box would put out some nice sql.

again my 2 cents would tell you 2 10" diamond audio d6 subs
