I bought the 07 because of the aux input on the front...so i can playing music the old school way (cd's).
I was told on the auction that it needs to be taken to the dealer to be programmed after installation...does that really matter?
I havent installed it yet.

Alright, im pretty sure it will work on my 06. If not ill return it.
so basically i just install the new 07 head unit and drive it to the dealer and they unlock it/program it if necessary?
Will they charge anything to program/unlock it? It seems very simple...

1. that 07 unit will not work for your car
2. to get aux at a low cost just do fm modulation, not as clear as usb or a fancy deck but its probably the best thing I have done to mine for over 5 year
ps; if you had an 07+ then you would go to the dealership and they will probably charge you to unlock it plus give you grief to make sure the unit isnt stolen.
I worked at a dealership a couple years ago and I borrowed on my service friend's tech 2 and unlocked the 06 mp3 unit in the parking lot lol

Would it hurt to try and install it and see if it does....
The auction says it will...so if not i should be getting my money back
