Kenwood kvt-819 flashes
Bgbearcatfan and I are at his house trying to troubleshoot his dvd player problem. The mini screen on the bottom flashes when he tries to turn it on, and just keeps on flashing. He thought that his battery was just drained so he bought a charger for it and it still does it. Now as he found out, if he holds the volume button in, it starts to work right but as soon as he lets go it goes back to flashing. Also, he got hit about a week ago on the passenger rear quarter panel. The next morning is when it started the flashing. On the way home from the accident he had it turned off so he's not 100% sure the accident caused it. Don't know how a rear quarter panel hit would effect that. All his connections are solid as he is checking now. He called Kenwood support and they have never heard of the problem and basically said get it serviced. Any help will be appreciated.
Heres the model Dvd player

Also, if it comes down to it will the insurance company reimburse him for the player? I know it's aftermarket and they don't usually replace aftermarket stuff but it was on the car at the time and I got to thinking, if somebody bought rims for their car and they got messed up in a wreck, they would prolly replace those. But the people will say for sure you cannot prove the accident did that. So, with all that said, is there a fighting chance?

Check to see if only the key on power wire is hooked up, or if the constant fuse is blown. I've had this happen once before, the DVD had only key on power and no constant power. When you pressed the on button it would do exactly that, try to boot up, but was unable to pull the power through the key on and would then turn off.

Yah i checked all the inline fuses and everything was good... Unless something in the adapter got blown somehow...
I mean the unit was fine for 3 months, until the accident, so unless it was just a big coincidence...
