Hi folks.

Figured I'd post up a couple pics of the latest mod I've completed.

Enjoy!

Yes, it is a fine bush.

Modified the holes the filament's go into in order to allow the filament through (had to expand a bunch). Standard H7 socket otherwise.

And yes, they are headlights Bpack.....but they are LED bulbs....which has, as far as I know, never been done in the Cobalt world previously. Some folks do the corners, maybe even the fog's (since most led's can't be used for driving lights), but this is the first with led's this bright used for actual driving. That is why they are special and worthy of post.

Nice idea, but there's a reason most go with HID's for headlights.

HID is brighter....

Halogen is dimmer.....

LED outlasts both types....by a VERY long shot. Find me a set of HID's that can last 25,000+ hours turned on.....

Suppose you have a point, but I'd rather replace the bulbs every year than only be able to see a few feet in front of me

What bulbs did you use? Lumens? I've been planning for some time to modify my Gen4 DEPO's with Audi-style LED running lights. I'm intrigued by a complete LED conversion. The 2014 Mercedes E class has EXCLUSIVELY LEDs for all of its interior and exterior lighting so I have to believe that they are on par with HIDs where visibility is concerned...

Why would you need 25,000+ lifespan that's an insane amount you do know this right?

Regular example:
2 hours driving everyday
300 days a yr = 600
10 yr = 6,000
20 yr = 12,000
30 yr = 18,000
40 yr = 24,000

Extreme example:
5 hours driving everyday.
365 days in a yr = 1,825
10 yr = 18,250
15 yr = 27,375

25,000 bulb hours for an avg person will last 40 years bro...You passing these down to your children? lol.

Interesting mod, def reduces the heat issue and lowers the ballast demand.

As far as anyone would know they'd believe them to be a normal HID projector setup. Nothing obvious besides being a little dimmer than HID's. However the white is WHITE, I suppose another give away.

heard PNP led bulbs like these:

H7 5K CXA 2000LM | 1 PAIR (backordered 12-18-13) B/O - LED - Headlights - Bulb Type

Call for apx, 2000 Lumens.....

Thoughts?

edit: thats 2000 lumens PER bulb.....Making 4000 total? Are hid rated like that?

The details say 2000 lumens and that's it. You get two bulbs, I think its 2000 total. But there cool.

been wanting to buy a decent set of PnP LED bulbs for the ATV. I love the HID's but all the extra wiring and having to mount he ballasts, id rather just have a brighter headlight. im planning on adding a 10-12" LED bar as well anyway.

That's per bulb.

^exactly what I said. But are HID's measured per bulb or total output?
