will boosting the signal allow me to run the boost gain lower, or completely off?
it seems as tho the frequencies arent getting to the amp
... like is that the reason i have to adjust the bass boost so high?

alright my 4 speaker amp can use the signal from channel 1/2 and send it to the channels 3/4 (so all 4 have the same signal) so i could unplug channel 3/4 from head unit, plug in sub into one of those, and use the filters on the head unit still right? (as long as i dont use crossovers on the head unit, just like filters such as classical, rock, rap, talk radio... etc) then use the crossovers at the amp

kudos to both empj and spun... even though sometimes i wouldn't take your advice
i took the sub rca of the sub out slot, took out channel 3/4 from head unit and put the sub out rca in there, from there i took the amp side rcas channel 3/4 out of the amp and set the setting to copy the signal to channel 3/4 from channel 1/2
from there the sub out rca (receiving channel 3/4 signal) fed the amplifer
wow... is all i can say
i first start it up (with all settings the same because i forget to take them off)
gain = 10.5/11, bass boost 9/18, remote bass 0/18 and with volume 13/34 on the head unit i got amazing killer bass, i was like holy ****... i toned down the bass boost to 0 (so i don't blow them) and set the gain to about 10-10.5, and remote bass at 9/18... i get slight bass at 9/34 noticeable at 16/34 and killer at about 22+/34 (it was shaking the ac vent on the side of my house... and the ladders on shelves in my garage..
great work guys and thanks for all the help... i know my parents will be happy i stop tearing apart the car everyday after school
