Line-Out converter help??
Hey, I'm new here so go easy!
I'm hooking up an aftermarket amp to my stock HU. I took out the stock sub, and cut the wires and hooked them into the LOC correctly, I believe. But when I play music, there's no current coming out of the RCA outputs. My amp and sub are hooked up, but theres nothing going from the LOC to my amplifier. Help??

double and tripple check your power and ground. make sure all the correct connections are made. most of the problems on here come from bad connections. also what you could do is buy a PAC line out that splices your rear speaker wires and converts them to RCA out puts. much easier, less wires. had one on my old saturn. works just as good

I know that all the connections from the speaker wire to the box are good, because the screws that go into the wires are all hot (checked with a test light). But the RCA outputs don't have any power coming out.

I haven't done that yet, but I had this amp and sub wired up in the house, hooked up to my computer. It's a car amplifier, I just used a computer power supply to use it, but the amp/sub was working great when I pulled it off the computer, a half hour before I plugged it into the car. Still can't figure this thing out!

From what I can tell, nobody has actually used this model of LOC in a cobalt. I'd guess that I need the scosche SLC4. Lurking through other threads, I've seen this one mentioned a few times and most people get it going without a hitch. What are your thoughts? I did test the amp and sub with my iPod and it did work. I tried every setting, checked all of my connections on the LOC. Nothing.

ok so then its the loc or wiring. start by disconnecting one side all together and using say the right only see if you can get some sound going hat way
i hate that loc just fyi but really any of them should work

use a multi meter and set ti the AC voltage its the best way to test if you have anything coming out of the out put of the LOC.maybe you have a bad LOC. you might have to try another one. go to best buy and get one and if it worked good if still no returne it saying you didnt need it. also invest in a HANES manual they will show you the electrical schematic so you can tell which wire is which.
