Mounting Amp on Rear deck??

So heres what I am thinking about doing..... Under the reardeck(Where the 6x9s are) it is lifted up about 2" or so there, My XM reciever mounts there also but I found another hole to hide it in and I was going to mount my amp there, It appears to be enough room for it. This way my sub box will be easy to remove if ever needed and then there will be only one speaker wire cord ever visable.... What do you guys think? good idea?? bad idea?? Will it get too hot?? etc, please post any comments, good or bad about this idea.....
I have add lots of pictures so you can see what Im talking about....

Just if you are wondering:
I have the stock Pioneer system with the 10" sub removed and I added 1 12" Kicker Solobaric L5 powered by a 1100watt(550RMS) Kenwood mono amp.

what type of amp is it and what tint do you have on the window? also are you going to cut out the rear deck (cardboad cover) for the amp because i dont think u have that much clearance for that under it.

Its a Kenwood Mono amp.... I am not going to cut it out, I want to try to keep it hidden.... and there is about a 2" or so gap in between the cardbroad/carpet cover and metal part of rear deck. No tint yet but will have tint probally next summer....
Theres enough room for the amp, I am just kinda worried about it overheating?? I have it running at 2ohms, It doesnt seem to get too hot but has shutdown after long usage at high volumes trying to power a kicker L5(600RMS/1200Peak) Amp only puts out 550/1100 at 2ohms.....The power gain is only turned up abou 80-90% of the way and the bass boost isnt turned up that much....So I think cooling might be okay but I dont want to have my amp overheat.... could I maybe mount a small 12v computer fan in there somewhere? I dont know, I just think it would be better hidden....

If you're worried about cooling, find a nearby opening and put a computer fan in it and wire the fan up to your remote wire. Low current draw and it will get the air moving to cool the amplifier.

Yeah, my amp doesnt seem like it gets very hot, but maybe I will try doing that, just where to put the fan? I could probally cut a small hole in the deck and put a fan right under maybe? or try mounting one beside it without cutting it, either way, I think I am going to go ahead and mount it there....If I have anyproblems, I will let you guys know... but if anyone else is intrested, theres enough room to mount an average size amp there...I also have a line-out converter, I will hide it under there aswell...

since you said it's already shut off because of long play, I have to ask if it's rated for 2 ohms? and then if your going to put it there (which is a very nice idea) your going to need some fans. I would choose something better equiped for that set up though, maybe one of the mini RF amps out now, but would definately use a fan, cause I would hate to see the rear deck catch on fire...

the best thing for cooling is going to be tint. and your amp isnt going to overheat for at least 5 months depending on where u live even if u leave it just how it is. I myself am mounting not one but 3 amps on the rear deck and none have internal fans... and they are class A/B but i have around 2% tint on the back (2 layers of 5% make 2.5 and a layer of 35% for a good guess of 2 even)

im very confident in my amps thermal protection and the fact that i shouldnt run them too hard. Now ive thought of adding a fan myself but at this point im not going to. Well see how the run in 105 degree weather (hopefully ill have second skin heatwave installed in the roof by summer so it should help)

Yeah, it doesnt get very hot where i live, its starting to freeze at night already, and winters coming up, my amp is a class d rated for 2ohms and it did shut off after +30mins of full volume on a hot summer day, this has only happened about 3 or 4 times.

I did get everything mounted and back in place, I might get a fan in the future if i have any problems....and tint will be on hopefully next spring. I have added a few more pictures, I mounted my XM sat receiver to the left, theres 2 hols the line up to mount it too but I had a problem trying to get therear backrest bolt cover to clip on, I had to put some spacers in between the headrest and rear deck so the cover pops into place.... I will find a new spot for the XM on a later date but this is good enough for now....

I also tested it with the rear seats and rear deck cover removed and It is WAY louder, the trunk has quite abit of soundproofing to it..... With everything back together, the amp did lift the middle of the reardeck cover up alittle(nothing noticable) but where the cutouts are for the 6x9s, the is now about a 1/2" gap inbetween(before it had a foam gasket to seal it) so I think the help out abit for letting bass get out of the trunk.... dont get me wrong, it pounded hard before, just hits a little harder now and with it all stripped, it was noticabally louder, so I am thinking of a way to let more bass get though the trunk with out cutting the rear deck or anything....

For the fans....where do you guys think a good spot would be for mounting them??

Don't hook that fan up to your remote turn-on wire, it WILL burn up the solder trace on most head units. PM me and I will tell you how to wire up a cheap relay that will save your head unit...
