mounting my box (6 pics)

okay so i got my subs, got my amp, got my grilles, wiring, poly fill, everything done and on the box

so

2 - 12" kicker l7 2 ohm (35 lbs a piece or so)
2 - grills (<5 lbs total)
1 - box (35 pounds)
wiring (<5 pounds)
poly fill (~ 2 lbs)
1 - zx1500.1 amp (~25 lbs or so)
1 - pdx.4-100 amp (~ 20 lbs or so)

okay so im looking at about about 160-170 lbs that needs to be secured and held down... the problem is, the trunk carpet is not very secure in its current state, what can i do to ensure that it is correctly and properly held down so it will not move?

********************
Also i do need trunk space!!!!
********************

also, this is the way i wired it

im assuming/assumed that the +/- that were close to eachother were the different coils, so 2 coils on each sub (since it is a dual voice coil sub, two ohms), im assuming that is wired right?

also the kicker manual has a picture of one dvc sub wired in parallel and it reads a 1 ohm reading, but seeing as though it is 2 dvc subs wire in parallel (basically 4 ohms total) it should still be a 2 ohm reading like the picture says correct?

thats all, sorry if im confusing, just please let me know if it is and i will try to better explain it

pics to give you guys a look

pdx amp, which will be mounted on the back

another front view, i cant wait

I had thought about this a lot.

The best real idea I came up with was by getting some ply wood and cutting it to perfectly fit the trunk. i was gonna go a step further and cut a nice hole for wire management, create a "door" to get to the battery and a "door" to get to my spare easier.

If done correctly, good looks meets utility. :-P

problem is with that is my amp on top would hit the trunk top if i used even 1/2" ply wood, and i definately though about that, i thot about drilling box brackets into the back, and instead of just mounting it to the wood under carpet, drilling through the chasis, and bolting it down, but idk what is under the front side of the trunk

as for getting to the spare i though about just cutting the wood under the carpet with an exacto knife so it would just pivot

alright i figured it out, to maximize my trunk space i wanted to move my system as close to the seats as possible, well back there there are the bolts that hold the seat down, well im just gonna buy two box brackets, make the hold big enough for the bolt, bolt them down then screw them on... and possible, some chain to the sides

If you start drilling holes in the front of the trunk, your getting dangerously close to the gas tank.
You shouldn't mount the amp right on the box, its bad for the amp
Mount the amps right on the back of the seats

velcro wont work with 150+ lbs and hitting the brake here, yea i decided no on drilling, and its only bad for the amp because of heat correct? i dont want wires being pulled when i pull down the seat

Its bad for the amp because of vibrations, the sub box tends to vibrate the internals of the amp, knocking pieces off

Depending on what the box dimensions are........you can fab up a bracket like i did so you can screw the box to the cross member that goes across the top of the trunk about 9 inches back from where the back of the seat would be if it were in the upright position......and just something to think about, the spare tire has to come straight up out of the mounting spot to clear the threaded rod that secures it in place so i dont really think you are going to be able to get the tire out to be honest with that box in there unless you take the rod out and just let the tire sit loose in there.....Later
