Mounting Subs & Amp

I need some suggestions on how to go about mounting my sub and amp in the car. I have 2 12" subs that are both in their own box. I originally mounted the amp to the back side of the 2 boxes to hold them together as well as try to add some weight to the back of them to keep them from tipping over. However this idea did not work so well. The boxes still tip over and eventually pull the screws out of the amp and everything becomes a mess. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount this equipment so that it will stay in place. BTW I would like to find a way that would not require me drilling into the bottom of the trunk if possible. Thanks

I had a real hard time with my setup of two seperate boxes, ended up having to use a big dual box so that my subs and amps weren't doing summersalts in my trunk. Maybe if you made some custom brakets or like some sort of strap, I would have to see your setup to get a better Idea. I even tried using the cables to hold everything in place. That did not work just pulled the cables out of the crimps even on my 4 guage power wires.

Build a Forum? Sorta Like a Tray that they set in? and put the amp in the center, cut a smaller square whole out so the amp can breath?

When I did my install I bought a set of straps and anchored them to the seat belt mounting bolts, then bolted the other ends to the sides of the box and got them really tight. My box doesn't move at all. I would suggest you bolt the two boxes together with something if you don't want the seperate look.

Also never mount your amp straight to your sub box, the amp takes too much vibration and can be damaged.

Heavy duty velcro should do the trick... Everytime I open up my trunk, my box is still in place.

BTW, I highly recommend not mounting an amp to the box. It makes it more likely that the solder joints could crack.
