i have aftermarket 4-way 6x9s and aftermarket 6.5"s in the doors, also im putting tweeters in the a-pillars, and 2 12" rockford fosgate p2s in the trunk, my question is, if i want to amplify all of the drivers, do i need 4 amps? i would like to use just 1, but i dont know how to wire all of the drivers to one amp without the tweeters and 6.5"s getting massive amounts of power, and eventually blowing. i was thinking of going with 2 amps, 1 for the subs and 6x9s using low pass and high pass filters, and another amp for the tweeters and 6.5"s but all of the crossovers i see are for rca-in and rca-out, preamp. i need them to be either inline with the speaker wire or find an amp with a hpf channel and lpf channel. i was also looking at the 5-channel amps, but they have like 200 watts rms, and i know those tweeters cant handle 200 rms. please help.

Uhh im confused, you deff dont want to be outputting the same signal to 6x9's as you are to your subs.

Get one amp for your 4 speakers, get a cross over for your tweeters. Get another amp for your subs

Get one amp for the subs and another one for the mids and highs.You will get cleaner sound.

Definitely get a 4-channel for the mids and highs! Also, I wouldn't recommend mounting tweeters in the a-pillars. For proper stereo imaging, your tweeters should bo mounted as close to your mids as possible. Use adjustable angle mounts to point them towards the drivers seat. Car manufacturers mount their tweeters up high because it looks clean and is "convenient" for production purposes, not because it's the best place to mount them!

Buy a 4 channel amp Bi-Amp your 6.5" components, ditch your 6x9's and 1 amp for your sub pounding at 2 ohms! That my friend is the way to go! I had the Boston Acoustics GT-44 4 channel amp powering my Boston Acoustics Z6 component speakers which were Bi-Amp'd which were running at 100w x 4 and I had a Bostons Acoustics GT-28 2 channel amp running 2ohm mono to a JBL Power Series 12 inch sub. It was the cleanest sounding system I had ever had! But then I sold it because i needed money and could kick myself for it. At first I was skeptical about Bi-Amping my components thinking that there wont be enough rear fill but there surprisingly was. And who cares about the people in the back seat

well i can use some help with this one.im adding a bxi16106d amp and a pair of l5 solos.im useing the stock pioneer 7 speaker system.i would like to know if anybody can tell me the best way to hook up my speaker inputs to the amp? especially since i dont have a preamp connection at the rear of the radio or do i? can i tap in where my ten inch pioneer sub is? does anybody have a diagram? thanx

You definetly don't want to run the subs off the same amp as the rest of the speakers. Get either a 2 channel or a mono amp for the subs. Get either a 2 channel or a 4 channel if money isn't a problem, for the 6.5's the 6x9's and the tweets. You should also use an electronic cross over as well. Hope this helps!!

yeah this helps alot, i wasnt really wanting to run the same amp with the subs and put the 6x9s on that amp, but if i had to do that, i would probably go with a 1800 watt 4 channel, i will get a mono for the subs, and another for the rest, but one more question, say my 6x9's are 500 watts rms each, my tweeters are 100 watts rms each, my 6.5's are 125 watts rms each, and i want full power to all drivers without going over and damaging them.

your going to have to play with gains on the amp to make sure the fronts dont get nearly as much power as your rears

but see, i dont want 4 amps... that would be the easiest way, but i either want 1, or maybe, 2 amps. at most.

You can get 5 channel amps and run all of your speakers on one amp. It will have 3 inputs you will need to send it a signle for your fronts, rears, and subs. These amps are usually over priced in comparison to the other option of getting a 4 channle and then a mono-block, and from the top of my head the strongest one I can remember seeing is 50x4 and 200x1 all at 4 ohms and the sub is bridgable to 2 ohms probably at 400 watts.
