the alpine stuff isnt bad at all. personally its a real good choice. i would go with some infinity kappa perfects or kappa's. the head unit by alpine is awesome w/ the navi. i put it in my buddie's H3. its a good unit. but i did alpine type x all around. sounded amazing. then he had 1 12" type x sub...best speakers of alpines. keep up the ideas

The only reason i did type r 6x9s is because they dont make type x 6x9s One day i may uograde to type x subs but i didnt want to buy another amplifier to run to type x's and a new high quality battery for that power as well.

Im working at getting all this stuff into the car as we speak, i have never sweated so much, installing car audio in plus 30C (92f) is awfull.

The one nice thing about the Alpine Amps with the Alpine deck is that you can control the amp's gain thru the head unit. Otherwise, they are crap.

You could have saved yourself a **** load of money with going with an all in one screen-dvd-nav unit.

Personally, I like the Pioneer. I had the D1 Screen, but just upgraded to the Z1 because of the built in bluetooth, dvd player, and single Nav DVD XM and Sirius Not Either/Or. But the best part is, with the Pioneer, it's all in one, no brain to hide
What the hell are you smoking? You got one thing right in all listed above, that there decks are good. The rest is bull. Tell me why Alpine's speakers, amps, subs, and components suck. Can you? Alpine is just like any other car audio manufacturer, they make quality products for $$$$$ and they make alot lesser quality products (type e) for alot less money. You cant just go saying that an entire brand sucks just becuase you had one bad experience with them, or you dont like them. And alpines nav system is the best on the market FYI. TARO you got a good start on a bad ass system.

sony does suck...... the only reason yours may sound good is because it is a bandpass box, and that masks all the distortion.....

get rid of the 6x9 before you even take them out of the box, get another set of 6.5 components.. im telling you right now, having all alpine speakers in my car, well accept for a couple sets of kickers, you will be a lot more happy with the 6.5's in the rear. Also, as far as power, you can buy a jl amp that will blow any alpine amp away, and drive all the speakers just fine. I got rid of my alpine amp for a jl for my mids and highs, best thing i ever did. Also, if you plan on running type x subs, you could get 1 10 with a jl 1000/1 and it would sound amazing. Im not bashing alpine at all man, I love alpine's stuff, but for real the 6x9's sound like crap, and alpine amps are a joke, as the one guy said the only cool thing is you can control them from the deck, and get like temp and volt readings and all that stuff...

He already bought them. Don't tell him to send them back.

I'm happy with 6x9s in the rear. They're fine. They're actually louder too.

I agree JL makes awsome amps, but the price of the 1000/1 would cost more then i paid for the entire system. I used to run a 500/1 and 300/4 in my old car. I was really impressed with the 500/1 but the 300/4 wasnt to my liking.

I have everything install now, and it only took 10 hours The components sound crystal clear just amazing, i am a little dissapointed with the 6x9s but i never had that high of standerds for them, Another compenent set might be in the near future. I havnt tested the subs yet. tommorow ill probly be trying to stop all the rattles

FYI.. If you are running powerful amps in your car, you dont have to get a new battery, you can just go out and buy a power Capacitor, they go from 40 to 200 dollars, Just lettin you know bro.... Hope your sound system sounds great

This is true, all a capaciter does is keep the voltage stable, so when you subs hit instead of sucking power from the battery, causing you lights to dim, you draw power from the cap which then recharges at a less noticable speed.

Everything is working well and sounds awsome, huge difference over stock in sound quality.

Caps are nothing but band-aids. Your gunna need something deep cycle like a Yellow top.

Sony is extremely cheap equipment.

As for what you purchased, it will sound amazing after everything is tuned. Darkstars had the same setup on J-body.org, all alpine type R/X stuff and he won I think 2 or 3 competitions for sound quality so far.

You guys have to be realistic, we drive cobalts... Putting a 6k dollar sound system into our cars is freaking crazy in my opinion. If you can afford it, more power to you. Me personally I am 19 and still making payments on my car.

A cap is just a band-aid but its a very small one at that. It will only last a few second if that unless its above 10farad then(depending on how much power your pushin) it might last up to 60 sec. A stronger battery is usually very well needed!

They will face either strait up or at a slight reward angle. I do this so i can continue to use my trunk. I do alot of driving and need my trunk for luguage.

id have to say no to this one, i have had both 6x9 type r's and 6.5 type r's, and the 6.5's have a lot less distortion, clearity is the thing, not loudness, 20 dollar speakers can be loud, however they most likely will distort, the distortion is what ruins your hearing.... Im more into clearity than loudness, my system is loud, there is no doubt about that, but it is also crystal clear at high volumes, there is a very fine line between loud sound and great sound.
