my pride and joy
so heres my setup. it gets alot of attention.
pioneer DEH-P980BT HU
2 8" digital design 1508's
powered by 1200w JBL GTO1201.1
in a full acrylic ported enclosure.
after market pioneer components
powered by 200w pioneer amp
stock pioneer tweeters.
the only thing i have right now is a video of the system playing at normal volume. tomorrow or wednesday ill go out and take stills with it lit up and with the amps covered and ill do another video of it at competition level.
its been metered doing ~132
it hadnt been tuned, it was hot out, and we were having troubles with the termlab and tones we were using. dont under estimate that number tho...its louder and i know it. you'd be shocked if u ever got to hear it in person.
so for now. this is all you get.

i guess the vid makes it look big bc with all the space i still have in the trunk..its pretty small
with the way the box was designed they had to be set that way
dont worry, i asked the same question. and many others lol
for 8's they pound. i always get asked if i have a 15 or 2 12's
no dudddeeee. just my two "boom boom mini 8's"
one day ill get a decal that says my 8's are louder than ur 12's.
coming soon lol

nice thats the DD box i can tell. honestly give it a few months before you go on the termlab. make sure you dont have distortion but let the dds break in a lil bit and you should gain quite a bit there. I would also try to put the amps on the back seat or in some sort of false floor and try moving the box back (towards the rear bumper) a few inches or so. see what happens

hell ya we all need to get some vids up. i think theres only been 2 vids i can remember... the dual mtx 9515 guy and the dual jl w1 12s guy
the 8s are rated at 450rms. 2 of the exact same 1500 12s would be louder but its always nice to show people what smaller stuff can do. Hence why my boss doesnt always want me to demo my system. we've done several double 12's that "sound" about as loud as mine. (especially at high notes) but for the lows im king. plus whats more impressive to someone who has never herd of a shop before? 2 12s doing a 145 or 2 15 doing a 148?

**** ya... mind you i dont really play tones any more ive found the song that sounds perfect in my car. Just playing it in the bay at the shop it not only flexes my car and windows, it shakes all the windows in the shop (even up front) so you can go outside and easily notice the rattling around the whole building. It also makes all the subs in the demo room physically move from the vibrations
Its pretty crazy

I dunno why there are people out there that underestimate smaller subs. the sound you get is much more crisp inherently. box design and size also plays a huge role. overall she's got a setup that'd probably eat most the peoples in here once those dd's break in a bit more.
Ohhhhh....ummmmmmm Emp.....I'm sorry but i gotta break it to ya.....I played a 5.1 dts movie in my car today, with a speaker i put temporarily in the center.
sooooooo technicallly.....your gonna kill me now? :-P

oh jeez emp u know i respect yur work already! i didn't wanna overload you with "i like" 's because people would start getting the wrong impression between us. lol but every time i look at your stuff it makes me wanna spend more money. going complete show car status like you is way too expensive of an option for me :-P and now this trisha girl comes around and doing it to me too with equipment. haha

the subs are broken in. a friend of mine had them before i bought them and TRUST, he broke them in well. i need to get it back on the termlab now that theyr tuned, andddd before it gets too hot.
ive attempted to bassrace with them in the 120-129.9 class, but bc we were havent problems with the laptop AND my headunit...that didnt work out as well as i had planned.
i <3 my DD's.
haha, that sounds so wrong.

lol you know what i mean. if it didnt sound super awesome then you just need to figure out why or assume why (of course a speaker just chilling on the dash isn't going to be best) and fix it prior to the final build
one thing i always tell everyone is no matter what you have to make sure your happy with what you got and most importantly paid for. Think what would have happened if i actually gave a damn what people thought? i mean look at my dual alt thread and see how many pos comments there are vs the neg's....
if your doing it to just do it thats fine but if not do what it takes to make urself happy... only you know what that is
