I've never tried it on a car that already has a built in amp and subwoofer but on my cavalier i used a line in converter from walmart. you splice into you rear speaker wires into this box and ground the box then plug your rca cables into it then the amp. The only problem here is a remote wire to turn your amp on and off so i rigged up a toggle switch and that worked great let me know how it goes

shouldnt take long, the output converter cuts your intall time drastically.

If you hook it up to the rear speakers it wont take anytime, just run a wire from the power on the amp to the dash and then put a toggle then run the other side all the way back to the rms, on the amp. this way your amp works and you can turn it off anytime, most importantly when you get out of your car.

The amp I used had High level inputs so a "output converter" or anything wasn't required. I also wired the remote turn on wire to the sun roof fuse in my fusebox (I don't have a sunroof) so that the amp turns on with the car, but also turns off only when I open the door (like the radio).
