NEED HELP deck install 2006 cobalt ss/sc

hey im working on my 06 cobalt ss/sc and im wantting to install a double din deck but im every confused of what harness i need cause apparently i need a 100 doller harness or else my air bags, secirty system, etc... wont work any more. Is this TRUE? I dont have onstar but i do have the pioneer sound system with sub and tweeters and do i also need the streeing wheel harness aswell? PLEASE HELP ME and tell me what equipment i need

and also how will the deck power up once my car is turned on or also when i turn the key to accessory settings?

if you can fid a fuse in the fusebox that does that then your fine.

The stereo has nothing to do with the DIC or chimes in those cars. as long as u don't hook up the red wire in the cheap harness you buy then your fine

what is the red wire anyways? and which wire would i hook up to the fuse box so that the deck will turn on and off?

the red wire is acc. and in most cases the wiper fuse or the sunroof fuse is what works for cobalts

hey so i just picked up the metra harness the one you said on one of your other fourms and do i need to repin it?

and also if my after market deck doesnt have a remote wire on the harness what wire should i splice into? the acc ignition wire?

does your deck have a power antenna wire? if you get the blue metra harness you shouldnt need to repin it

you will lose a lot. tons of **** are all ran through the radio. spend the money and do it right. why not?

hey sorry so one last question so i have to pioneer system in my car and i herd to keep the speakers and the sub i need to some how relocate a wire from my factory harness is that true? and which wire and how if so?

do this... buy the metra brand harness. wire it up and try it out and see what happens if you run into issues then we can go from there. In most cases the problem is either person who put it in or the brand of harness. If you get the Metra brand harness and wire it correctly then theres a very small chance u have to do anything else.

yeah i got the metra harness but i i was looking on your other fourm and it said that if you have the pinoor sound system when u put in a aftermarket deck your speakers and sub wont work cause the remote wire from the factory amp has to be hooked up the the remote on the after market harness. is that correct?

Unless u absolutly need those annoying bells when the door is open then the cheap harness is fine thats what i have in mine

J repat the only thing u will lose is the door chimes
