I just installed my Alpine IVA-W200, its freakin nice, except i am having troubles wiring up some of the leads to get the videos to work. Most DVD decks only have a wire that goes to your e-brake but alpine has that plus one that has to go the foot brake lead...thats where the problem is. I can't find any wires coming off the brake to tap into.....so i am without video for now....

Well there is the e-brake one which gets grounded once the e-brake is up. It tells the deck when the car is stopped (e-brake up) or not. Its how they stop you from watching videos when your driving.
Alpine added a lead that must be connected to the foot brake as well for added security (to prevent law suites i guess) so that you must hold the foot brake down when you apply the e-brake. It stops people from simply grounding the e-brake wire to bypass the safety features like on other decks.

yea thats crazy because i don't see how they can get sued if it was rigged by the purchaser. But that seems like its rig proof because u have to be on the foot brake as well. Good luck with that....can u send me a pic i wanna see the final product.

yeah it is. u have to use 2 switches. one hooks onto the footbrake wire and one hooks onto the handbrake wire. from the other side of the switches i think the footbrake goes to ground and the handbrake goes to 12v constant. if its not that, its the other way around. its been awhile. but that will do it. with out buying that PAC interface to bypass it.

I have the Kenwood DDX 6019 Double Din unit. You should be able to pick that up for under $1000. It has a 7 inch screen and will play almost any audio and video format like MP3, WMA, DVD+R, DVD-R DVD Ram, etc.... Most players will only play DVD and DVD -R. It also has the other capabilities such as rear camera ready, sat radio ready, blue tooth ready, ipod, etc...

Your gonna love the Alpine!!
You need the two switches because your suppossed to go through a sequence to access the setup menus and crap withthe alpine ( its like hold foot brake, engage then disengage e-brake, then engage it once again then finally release foot brake) the switches allow you to do this, other wise you would never get in if they were just both on.

oh ps. there's a bypass for that model apline for like $25. It also includeds a switch if you want to enable the security again.
