new aftermarket hu install - random fuzzing and loss of power
just installed a jvc KW-810BT in my 05 ss/sc w/ pioneer, using the non-lan metra harness identified in the FAQ, and the radio power pulled off the fuse tap on the sunroof fuse.
unit worked fine with car on accessory for the first 15 minutes. then, randomly, it started blinking, fuzzing, and eventually shut down and refused to turn back on. checked all connections again, and the unit is now doing it more consistently. i can have it on for about 5 minutes before it goes through this freakout for about 30 seconds. have also noticed that the car is chugging and slow on attempts to startup.
i still have the original battery in the car - could the new radio drawing more power cause the problem i'm having? or is it more likely a wiring issue? was thinking ground, but its cutting out without the car moving, so i'm not sure thats it.
thanks.

did u hook up anything to the red wire going into the harness? the red acc wire should run from the fuse to the radio only. the red wire in the metra harness is gm lan data. if you run power into it it can mess up ur car.
if thats not the case disconnect everything and see if the problem goes away.
