New amp and sub with no LOC or remote

Just wanted to let people know that I just installed an aftermarket amp and sub in my 08 SS/TC and it was super easy. I bought a MTX Jackhammer 600 which has speaker level inputs as well as a smart chip that tells it when it's getting a signal so you don't need to run a remote wire. I took the speaker wires directly from the stock sub and connected them to the amp speaker inputs. Connected the power, ground, and speaker wires to the sub and that was it. Works great. Easiest install I've ever done. The only thing I'm not sure of is it seems to be overdriving just a bit, but I think I just don't have the filters on the amp set right. There's a setting for 20 to 40 hz and another one for 40 to 200 hz. I thought they were just low pass filters, but they're a little trickier to tune than I though they would be. Any suggestions?

btw first post! Great forum from what I have read so far. Good to be here.

Here's the link at Circuit City where I bought it. If you want I can still post some pictures.
