Holy **** dude wtf You are about to spend 500 bucks on a unit that does nothing special.. for a little more you could have everything that lasts a life time. The previous post on page 1 .. That unit has a 30gig hard drive and everything dvd ****... If I was about to spend 500 on a unit I wouldn't be ruling out units with Navigation just because that is a feature...????

I said the Kenwood DDX-512 only because I have that unit and love it. Aslo if down the road you decide that you want GPS you have the ability to do so.

well i have gps/navigation on my phone already...this is the reason i dont want 2 of the same thing...you get what im saying

yea dude for real i have a palm pilot fone and it has nav on it and at first i said the same thing you did about not wanting nav cus i have it on my fone already but if you think about it, ive driven back and fourth using it and yea it works great its awesome feature for a fone... but that **** is hella dangerous which is why it says do not use while driving unless someone else is using the fone, if you have the nav in your car its alot safer

im glad you made this threat tho cus im in the market for a unit too and i dont know what to buy either so what ever unit everyone says is the best is the one im going with.. no bs tho whatever EmperorJJ1 says to me seems pretty much gold, i had a thread about a car pc i was looking into buying and he and a few other people talked me out of it so he knows his **** and you dont really see him post about performance **** but soon as theres a audio ? he's usually one of the first ones to post

well the nav on my phone is pretty easy to use...it has voice recognition, and voice directions...so i dont have to look at it...i just speak and it does its thing....so im really not concerned about getting nav on my HU....but if i happen to find one with it....and i like the unit....just mayb i might get it....but i doubt it....i really dont want to pay those extra 200-300 for a HU with nav

Well the kenwood you can get the bluetooth adapter and get everything from the phone over your radio. May help to hear the GPS directions from the phone also allows for hands free calling and texting. However this feat. isnt built into the unit its a add-on that is around an additional 100 - 150

hmmm i didnt even think about having bluetooth on my HU....thanks for the heads up...thats a great thing to have

hell ya... bluetooth is honestly one of the better features. mutes the music for a call, picks up from a pretty decent distance. Pricy but "fun". Double check that it works with ur phone before getting ur hopes up

so i was doing some more looking around and i found some HU with built in bluetooth and everything else that im looking for....

a couple of brands that i found are

LANZAR
JENSEN

im not too sure about those brands but they are priced well below 280
any feedback on those brands....

Jensen is the only one i would think about of those 3 but dont have near the quality of anything else mentioned here. I wouldnt expect any of the wow features it lists to even work honestly.

thats good to know...i almost bought a lanzar when i got my windows tinted...im kinda glad i didnt...they guy was telling me how it has everything and this and that....w/bluetooth/nav....and i wasnt sure...he said he would sell it to me for 750 but i wasnt feeling it.....one cuz it was a single din and i want double din...and there was too many pieces to it

lol come on thats 10 bucks less then the pioneer. not worth it at all. speaking of witch i got to go in the dvd menu of the 4k for the first time (installed several but i just check to see if it works then done today i played around a lil bit) it was very nice

lol honestly 370 is not a bad price.... just a few years back it was 1000 for a cheap one. Plus all they pyles and power acousiks ect ect are look decent package wise but the screen quality isnt great and the menus and all that are horrible. imagine something that came out in the early nineties pre windows dos style.
